For decades, Trinity Western University has dominated across multiple sports, winning national championships and sending alumni to the Olympics and World Championships. The program is known for its award-winning media coverage and innovative, proactive methods of capturing athletes and events for digital audiences.

The Complete Champion Approach™ (CCA) helps Trinity Western Spartan student-athletes become champions in all areas of their lives by focusing on whole-person development. The CCA is designed to encourage student-athletes to develop their God-given gifts during their time at Trinity Western University.

The goal is that Spartan Alumni would be empowered to live lives of significance as servant leaders, equipped to powerfully impact their families and communities worldwide.

OUR STORY: Kirsten Kampman

Growing up on a daily farm, Kirsten grew up learning the values of discipline and hard work at an early age. Those values later provided the foundation for her impressive career as a university athlete and national champion.

I traveled to her family farm where she grew up to interview her and learn more about who she is as a complete champion. The benchmark for her standards kept getting raised as she learned to compete at one of the highest levels of sport. This series promotes the Complete Champion Approach stewarded by Trinity Western University.

OUR STORY: Aristotle Kalala

Aris grew up as a refugee in South Africa before coming to Langley, British Columbia, to play basketball at Trinity Western University. He talks about his experience as a refugee and how people treat him differently as a result.

He doesn’t hold any hatred for those who treat him differently, which speaks to his incredible character and the kindness in his heart. His experiences have helped build him into the man he is today, a shining example of grit, character and determination to make a name for himself and support his family back home who gave him his beginnings.

OUR STORY, IN COLOUR

Trinity Western hosted the 2025-26 Women’s Volleyball National Championship, and we needed to create a promotional campaign to market the tournament. We wanted to highlight the individual personalities of our star players and create enough content that would last several months leading up to the tournament.

We developed a creative concept in which each player painted the tournament logo in their unique style while being interviewed. We also kept this creative concept a secret and had each athlete blindfolded until they sat in their seat to add a blend of surprise to the campaign. The players did not see the final results from their teammates until the videos were released. We conducted 19 interviews in 10 hours.

This format allowed us to create a variety of photo and video assets. The content was published on social and web platforms weekly for several months leading up to the championship weekend.

TWU HOMECOMING

Homecoming has become a treasured and favorite annual event for the TWU community. One of the highlights of the event is a sporting match between a team of alumni athletes and the current Spartans. Each summer, we create a series of marketing assets to promote the match across social media channels and email newsletters.
This content is also used in-game during intros.

Our production team worked with the university's alumni and marketing teams to align the content with the event's theme, making each year’s production unique. I develop creative concepts, coordinate with various teams, and oversee all stages of the project.

Regan Yee (‘18)

OLYMPIAN STORIES

I traveled to Flagstaff, Arizona, to visit Regan Yee, a two-time Canadian Olympian who graduated from Trinity Western University in 2018.

Regan grew up in a small town in Northern British Columbia, loving the outdoors and sports. She was drawn to the individual competitiveness of running and fell in love with distance running. Regan describes putting on the national Canada kit as a “special feeling” and is filled with excitement and pride when given the opportunity to represent her country on the world stage.

OLYMPIAN STORIES

Allison Jackson (‘14)

Allison Jackson dreamed of going to the Olympics since she was eight years old. Coming from a small town, she describes her rise as an Olympian as becoming “a big fish in a small town. Jackson learned habits and disciplines during her time at Trinity Western that helped prepare her for the Olympics.

I traveled to Montreal, Quebec, to interview Allison and capture her on her training grounds across the city in preparation for the 2024 Olympics.

Below, you can find an assortment of the video work I have done at events and with the teams.
